What information do we collect?

Disney collects information about your interactions with the Disney Group including

  • Details of your transactions including name, billing address, e-mail address, telephone number, delivery address, products purchased and credit or debit card number and expiry date
  • Information you provide when you register on a Disney site
  • Information about your use of this and other Disney Sites
  • Information about your participation in Disney promotions or competitions
  • Your responses to communications from us, in particular whether you have opened or clicked on an email
  • Your responses to surveys on Disney sites
  • Information provided where you may opt-in through another non-Disney site to receive information from Disney and agree to your information being forwarded to us

How do we use the information we collect?

We will use your information:

  • To complete your orders
  • To send prizes won in competitions
  • To send you information from the Disney Group where you have opted in to this
  • To understand our customers and visitors better, so we can make our services and marketing more relevant. We may also use other information to help us do this, such as survey information

You can opt out from receiving marketing from us at any time by following the instructions provided on each e-mail we send to you.

If you have registered to use Disney sites you will also have access to a "Preferences" page that will allow you to amend your communication preferences. In addition registered users’ information will be subject to a different privacy policy.

Disclosure of your Information within the Disney Group

Personal information may be shared within and used by members of the Disney Group worldwide. Wherever your information is processed by the Disney Group, we will ensure that it is protected appropriately. These companies will adhere to this Privacy Policy and, if in the USA, to the "Safe Harbor Principles" officially declared by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection compared to the data protection laws of European Union Countries. The Disney Group includes The Walt Disney Company Limited and all of its subsidiary and affiliated entities, including companies such as those branded under Buena Vista, ABC and ESPN labels (so companies that generally do not offer their products and services under the "Disney" brand name), as well as companies that generally do offer their products and services under the “Disney” brand name. When we say “we”, “us”, “our” and “ourselves” in this policy, we mean any member of the Disney Group.

Disclosures of your Information outside the Disney Group

We will only pass on your information to third parties in the following situations:

  • If this was clearly stated at the time of collection or registration and, where required, if you have given permission for this;
  • If we employ another organisation to perform tasks on our behalf – such as delivering goods to you. In this case, the organisation may only use your information to fulfil this specific task;
  • If we sell a Disney business to another organisation, or merge with other businesses. In this case, the buyer will only be able to use your information as set out in this Privacy Policy;
  • If we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary for legal proceedings. We may also disclose information when we believe in good faith that applicable law or regulation requires it
  • We may also share details with third parties (such as auditors or legal advisors) to obtain advice.

Cookies and other technology

We collect information through technology to make our sites more interesting and useful to you. For instance, when you come to one of our sites via your computer, we collect your IP address. An IP address is often associated with the portal through which you enter the Internet, like your ISP (Internet service provider), your company, or your university. We may combine this information with personally identifiable information. If you visit Disney via mobile, then we use a unique identifier for your mobile in a similar way.

Our sites also use a variety of technical methods for tracking purposes, including cookies and web beacons.Cookies are pieces of information that a site sends to your computer while you are viewing the site. Web beacons are small pieces of data that are embedded in images on the pages of Sites.
